The selection committee DME (Directorate of Medical Education) will conduct Counselling for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS NEET 2021. The admission for MBBS/BDS shall be made on the basis of NEET UG 2021. The selection and admission criteria to MBBS/BDS seats in any Recognised and affiliated Medical Institutions are subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in the merit list, and other such criteria.

  • Government seats in Self Financing Private Colleges (Colleges affiliated to Dr MGR Medical University)

 Rounds of Counselling 

First round of Counselling

  • The candidates should pay a non-refundable amount of Rs.500/- (or) by means of Demand Draft payable at Chennai on the
    scheduled date of counselling.
  • The candidates can download the call letter from the official Website, take a printout of the call letter and report in person with all the required certificates to the venue as per the schedule.
  • The candidates who have been selected in the first round of counselling after certificate verification should receive the provisional allotment Letter, and join the college before the date mentioned in the allotment letter.
  • The candidates who have been allotted seats and failed to join the college within the given time are not eligible to attend the subsequent rounds of counselling for the year 2021-22. (This shall be applicable for all phases of counselling).
  • The candidates who have failed to report in person for the first round of counselling are assumed to have been opted out from the counselling process and that individual will not be allowed to take part in the subsequent rounds of counselling for the year 2021-22

Second round of Counselling

  • When a candidate is scheduled to attend the second round of counselling, then the candidate has to pay the processing fee of Rs.500/-. (The candidates who are waitlisted/allotted need not pay the processing fee.)
  • Re-allotment/allotment for the vacancies arising due to not joining of the candidates allotted under State Quota and the unfilled seats from the All India Quota in Government Medical Colleges and newly created seats, if any will be done on the basis of the rank following the rule of reservation.
  • During the second round of counselling, candidates will be permitted to opt the course/college as per rank and by following the rule of reservation from rank one.
  • The candidates who have failed to appear in person for the second round of counselling are assumed to have been opted out from the processes of counselling and that individual will not be allowed to take part in the subsequent rounds of counselling for the year 2021-22. The candidates can download the call letter and attend the counselling.
  • The candidates who have been selected in the second round of counselling after certificate verification should receive the provisional allotment letter. The candidates should join the college on or before the date mentioned in the provisional allotmentvletter.
  • If a candidate fails to join the College within the given time, he/she will not be permitted to participate in the further rounds of counselling.

Mop-Up round of Counselling

  • Finally, the Mop-up counselling will be done. The candidates will be permitted to opt for the college as per rank by following rule of reservation from rank one subject to the availability of sufficient time before the cut-off date as prescribed by the National Medical Commission (erstwhile Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India.
  • The candidates who have joined/waitlisted from the first and second rounds of counselling and as per the mop-up counselling schedule are eligible to participate in the mop-up counselling.
  • The candidates who have selected seats in the mop-up counselling and have received their provisional allotment letter should report in person before the respective Medical / Dental College on or before the given date and time mentioned in their provisional allotment letter.
  • If he/she fails to join in the specified time and date in the respective college, it will be considered as discontinued and the candidate should pay the penalty as per Clause18 (a).
  • If it is found that a candidate has been involved in impersonation/suppression or misrepresentation of facts and production of falsified / bogus certificates by the candidates, his/her provisional allotment order will be cancelled and legal proceedings/criminal action will be initiated.
Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

A candidate should obtain a minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS to become eligible for admission to MBBS / BDS Courses for the academic year. However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with BenchMark Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for the unreserved category candidates and 40th percentile for SC/SCA/ST / OBC candidates.
  • The minimum age of the candidate applying must be 17 years as on December 31, 2021.
  • The candidates belonging to other states who have qualified their class 6 to class 12 from the Tamil Nadu state will be eligible for admission under the open category.
  • Aspirants must have completed their class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and, English as the compulsory subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for PwD candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • The candidate should be a citizen of India
  • Overseas Citizens of India(OCI) are allowed but there is no reservation for them. They can apply ion open Category.
  • Candidates who have studied Class 6 to 12 from schools situated in Tamil Nadu or partly or completely from other states will be required to submit their parent’s birth certificate, ration card, and class 10 or 12 certificates as proof of domicile
  • Candidates who do not belong to the Tamil Nadu domicile but have completed Class 6 to 12 from the state can apply for Tamil Nadu NEET 2021 admission under the open category.
Reservations

The selection process will be made based on NEET – UG 2020 score and by Single Window counselling following the rule of reservation by the Government of Tamil Nadu as follows:-
Within the 30% reservation for Backward Classes, 3.5% will be provided for Muslims and
16% of seats out of the 18% quota earmarked to Scheduled Caste shall be allocated to the
Arunthathiyar Community

  • H.S.C. Mark sheet (both sides of Mark Sheet) or any other equivalent examination.
  • Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent courses.
  • Certificate for proof of study from VI Std. to XII Std for the candidates who have studied completely in Tamil Nadu.
  • Nativity certificate for the candidates who have partly or completely studied outside Tamil Nadu from Standard VI to Standard XII along with supporting documents as mentioned in Clause 4(h).
  • The candidate who is native of Tamil Nadu and have studied from VIstandard to XII standard in schools of Tamil Nadu also should submit supporting documents of the parent’s certificates as mentioned in Clause 4(g).
  • Permanent Community Certificate Card.
  • Aadhar card
  • Rationcard/Passport.
  • First Graduate Certificate (if applicable) as in Annexure XIII (a) and (b).
  • The candidate who claims the benefit of a First Graduate should submit their certificate issued by the competent authority to their respective Colleges on securing the admission.
  • Income Certificate for the candidates claiming fee exemption.
  • Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai for the candidates of other Universities / Boards (except State Board).

Documents of Parents

  • TC/SSLC/10th/12th Marksheet.
  • First graduate certificate/No graduate certificate.
  • Community certificate.
  • Income certificate(if applicable).

NEET UG 2021 update: Extension of Phase 2 and Modify the online application form window

National Testing Agency (NTA) extends the date for filling up of the Phase 2 application and for correcting the online application form for NEET UG 2021.

The candidates can now fill the registration process and modify the particulars in their NEET UG 2021 online application form up to 26th October 2021, Tuesday 11:50 p.m at the official website.

The NTA stated that “On receiving numerous requests from the candidates, the National Testing Agency is again opening the window for filling up of the second set of Information and correct/modify the particulars of the first and second phase of online application form for NEET (UG) 2021.”

They can modify/correct the field like:

  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • e-mail address
  • Category
  • Sub-category
  • Fields of second phase

The candidates who are interested may avail this facility as the final and end opportunity for correcting their particular in the first and second phase of the Online Application Form of NEET (UG) – 2021.

This facility is also open for candidates who had done one-time correction, earlier in this particular fields.

The agency mentioned, “The Candidates are strongly advised to check, cross-check, and verify their registered e-mail address and ensure that it is their own e-mail address only as NTA will be sending the scanned copy of the Scorecard to the registered e-mail address.”

“In case any candidate faces difficulty in making corrections of the Online Application Form of NEET (UG) – 2021, he/she can contact on 011-40759000 or e-mail at neet@nta.ac.in.,” it added.

The candidates are advised to keep visiting the NTA website(s) www.nta.ac.in and https://neet.nta.nic.in/ for the latest updates.

Well there is no any announcement or confirmation on when will the results of NEETUG 2021 will be released. However, the candidates can expect the NEET 2021 results after the correction window closes.

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) to offer B.Sc (Honours) programme at B.E colleges in Karnataka.

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) was established in the year 1998. It is one of the largest and best technological Universities in Karnataka. The university having 219 affiliated colleges, 1 constituent college, and 17 Autonomous colleges with undergraduate courses in 35 disciplines, PG program in 94 disciplines, and Ph.D. & M.sc(Engg.) with research programs in 592 departments.

According to the report of Deccan Herald, Vice-chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University Prof. Karisiddappa, it is a 4 years B.Sc Honours course that comes with an exit option as per the NEP (National Education Policy) Guidelines. The VTU has already identified 66 Affiliated colleges, both Private colleges and Government colleges based on the facilities and availability of faculties to offer B.Sc courses in the colleges. This proposal of offering B.Sc courses is placed before the State Govt for approval.

” Few months ago the Minister floated this idea during a meeting. We have placed it before the Executive Council and academic senate. Following the approval, we have initiated applications from the colleges interested.” said Prof. Karisiddappa.

From now, the admission for the B.Sc courses is based on the KCET 2021 ranks. VTU has requested KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) to initiate the admission based on the KCET ranks. The 1st priority will be given to students who appeared for KCET and then in case of any vacant seats Non-KCET students will be considered.

Visvesvaraya Technological University finalized and shortlisted the 66 colleges based on the infrastructure facilities and other things to offer the course. With this Initiative measure, the Engineering colleges will become multi-disciplinary and the students who take B.Sc courses at these colleges can study courses like Computer Science (C.Sc) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as open electives. And also, the intake capacity of each of these colleges will be 60, and approval certificates or other documents will be provided by Visvesvaraya Technological University as an Allied Health Sciences Degree.

NIRF India Rankings 2021- Top 10 medical colleges all over India.

National Institutional Ranking Framework released the top-ranking medical college across India on 9th September 2021 by Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.

NIRF was approved and launched by the MHRD on 29th September 2015. The framework ranks the institutions on parameters of Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception.

As reported by NIRF ranking 2021 All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has been ranked No. 1 with a score of 92.07. AIIMS, New Delhi has capped the top position for the fourth consecutive year with an increase of 2 points compared to the last year’s 90.69.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh secured 2nd place with a score of 82.62 while the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore placed 3rd  with a score of 75.33 in this year NIRF ranking. Ever since 2018, AIIMS, PGIMER, CMC are maintaining their positions in the NIRF ranking.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore being a new entry to the list bagged 6th position with a score of 69.25. Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi slipped to the 7th rank with a score of 67.62 whereas it was ranked 6th position in NIRF ranking 2020. Although there is an increase in the score compared to the last year’s score of 64.72.

VMC hospital with 650 teaching beds spread in a vast area of built up area. Hospital is located in Penchikalapadu village close to Kurnool city on the way to Kodumur. Patients from 2 to 3 districts visit the hospital which is centrally located in the southern part of Andhra Pradesh. Surgical Departments like OBG, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic and ENT with efficient doctors performing critical operations providing top class health care to the public. Well established Medical departments like General Medicine, Dermatology, Pediatrics’, TB&CD and Psychiatry  make an average appearance of 500 outpatients and 150 inpatients per day. Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences runs under Sri Rama Educational Trust promoted by  Sri Alluri Murthy Raju an educationist who also established technical and management institutions in Andhra Pradesh. MIMS is located at Vizianagaram Andhra Pradesh well connected by Road and Rail. Visakhapatnam Airport is 60 km from college. In the year 2002 MIMS started with 100 MBBS seats and extended to 150 later by building advanced infrastructure. CAIMS MEDICAL COLLEGE

Chalmada AnandRao Institutes of Medical Sciences(CAIMS), started in the year 2003 spread in 35 acres with all Modern facilities at Karimnagar District head quarter. It has been successfully running MBBS course with an annual intake of 150 students for the last 18 years. Apart from MBBS CAIMS is having 121 seats in 19 departments PG degree and PG Diploma and 3 seats in 2 Super-Speciality departments. Training hospital is established in the north east of Telangana covering untouched areas with an intention to provide best quality medical education. CAIMS HOSPITAL

Hospital has a separate block in the same campus. Hospital  building has three clinical and para-clinical departments  having 1000 beds. The hospital is a Multi speciality and has qualified and competent staff and deals with all kinds of medical and surgical needs of patients. The hospital functions 24 hours for all days and also provides emergency services. In addition to the General beds in different specialities, there are specialized wards having 5 beds each is ICU, ICCU, SICU, PICU/NICU, RICU and OBG Casualty. The present Out Patient inflow is more than 450 per day with the spread of the hospital popularity increasing day by day. This hospital has specialized facilities with CT Scan and MRI apart from the Sophisticated Radiology department. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Under KNRUHS, the Counselling procedure is divided into Convener quota-CQ (Govt.) and Management Quota(MQ1 & MQ2)Domicile(Local) students of Telangana Qualified in NEET-UG and NEET-PG are eligible to participate in the counselling process for which a separate notification is published. For Convener Quota in Telangana, KNRUHS conducts 3 or 4 rounds of counselling followed by Mop Up round. If required, Extended Mop-Up Round Counselling will be done.

Students from all India and Telangana are eligible to participate in the Management Quota Seats for which a separate notification is published. For Management Quota KNRUHS conducts Two Rounds of Counselling followed by Mop Up Round. If required, an Extended Mop Up Round Counselling follows.

Currently MMC Khammam is now run under the Dynamic leadership of Sri.Puvvada Ajay Kumar present Chairman of the college which has transferred to achieving new heights in medical education.
