The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a final opportunity for NEET (UG) 2026 candidates to confirm, correct, or update their bank account details to receive the refund of the examination fee for the cancelled NEET UG 2026 examination held on 03 May 2026.
According to the public notice, NTA successfully conducted the rescheduled NEET UG 2026 examination on 21 June 2026, with nearly 20 lakh candidates appearing across the country. The agency is currently finalising the examination results, which are expected to be declared soon.
Why This Window Has Been Opened
Following the cancellation of the 03 May 2026 examination, NTA had committed to refunding the examination fee to all eligible candidates. Candidates were asked to submit their bank account details through the dedicated portal so that refunds could be transferred directly to their accounts.
While nearly 19 lakh candidates have already confirmed or updated their banking information, NTA received representations from some candidates who were unable to complete the process due to incorrect bank account numbers, incorrect IFSC codes, or because they had previously selected the “No Refund” option and now wish to change it.
To ensure that no eligible candidate is deprived of receiving the refund, NTA has opened one final correction window.
What Candidates Can Do
After logging into the portal, candidates will be able to:
- Confirm their existing bank account details if they are correct.
- Update or correct their Bank Account Number and IFSC Code if any information is incorrect.
- Change their earlier “No Refund” selection if they now wish to receive the refund.
- Continue with the “No Refund” option if they do not wish to claim the refund.
Important Dates
- Opening of Final Window: 25 June 2026
- Closing of Final Window: 30 June 2026 (11:55 PM)
Candidates are advised not to wait until the last day to complete the process.
Security Measures
To safeguard candidates’ financial information, NTA has implemented OTP-based Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Access to the refund portal will only be granted after successful verification through the candidate’s registered mobile number.
Documents Required
Candidates updating their bank details may be required to upload:
- A scanned copy of a cancelled cheque, or
- The first page of their bank passbook displaying the account number and IFSC code.
How to Update Bank Details
Candidates should:
- Visit the official NEET portal.
- Log in using your Application Number and Password.
- Complete OTP verification.
- Confirm or update their bank account details.
- Upload the required banking document (if applicable).
- Submit the form before the deadline.
Advisory for Candidates
NTA has urged all eligible candidates to verify their bank account information carefully to ensure smooth processing of refunds. Candidates who fail to confirm or update their details before 30 June 2026 (11:55 PM) may face delays or issues in receiving the refund.
With the NEET UG 2026 results expected shortly, candidates are encouraged to complete this final formality well before the deadline to avoid any inconvenience.
