K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), established in 1999, is a constituent college of NITTE (Deemed to be University) in Deralakatte, a town about 13 km from Mangalore and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi, and the Malaysian Medical Council. The college is ranked 36th in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020 by MHRD, GOI among all the medical colleges in India. NITTE Education Trust was founded in 1979 by Late Justice K S Hegde, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
The campus of KS Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) stands on 40 acres of land. Equipped with all modern facilities, the serene and peaceful campus provides an ideal learning atmosphere for the students. Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) Admission Procedure-There are 4 Rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 , Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds, three rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by the respective Deemed Universities for which the students must be registered and are displayed in the MCC List.
