Evaluation and Merit Lists
The WBJEE-2026 examination was conducted on May 24, 2026[cite: 2]. The evaluation has been processed based on the OMR-based offline examination[cite: 2], following the finalization of the frozen answer keys by the Board.
The Board will generate two distinct merit ranks depending on the papers attempted by the candidates:
- General Merit Rank (GMR): Prepared considering scores from both Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics & Chemistry). GMR will be the basis for admissions into all Engineering, Technology, and Architecture courses, alongside the Pharmacy course at Jadavpur University.
- Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR): Prepared based solely on the scores of Paper II. This rank governs admission to all Pharmacy courses across the state, except at Jadavpur University.
Note on Confidentiality: In line with its standard protocol to ensure candidate privacy, WBJEEB will issue individual rank cards and will not release a public merit or rank list.
Next Steps: Counselling and Verification
Securing a rank in WBJEE-2026 does not automatically guarantee admission. A separate notification detailing the e-counselling process, online registration, and institutional seat matrices will be published on the Board’s official websites shortly.
Candidates must ensure that all supporting credentials—such as academic certificates, West Bengal domicile proformas, and category/income certificates—are fully valid and kept ready[cite: 2]. All original documentation will undergo strict verification by the respective allotted institutes during the admission cycles.
